Minecraft: Pocket Edition v0.7.0 trailer and buckets news

reznaf | 4:21 PM | , , , , , , , ,

So while everyone sits waiting patiently for the upcoming Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.7.0 update to arrive which will introduce true multiplayer functionality to the game via Minecraft Realms, there is other features coming with the update, one possibly being the arrival of Buckets finally.

If you've been following our coverage of the upcoming update, then you should be well familiar with what is heading our way. Now you can add Buckets to that list although we have to state that it isn't 100% confirmed yet. The reason we say this is that it could be a joke Jeb was making as well referring to Bukkit. For those of you not in the Minecraftworld on PC, Bukkit is a type of server software people use to host Minecraft servers.

However, Buckets have been added to the official Minecraft: Pocket Edition update thread on the Minecraft Forums and so far that thread has never been wrong. So it looks like we will finally be getting the ability to use buckets soon. For those of you who keep asking, the update won't be arriving until late April at the earliest but most likely won't arrive until the first week of May 2013.

On a side note, Mojang has released a new Minecraft: Pocket Edition trailer finally as well which you can watch in the video above.

Trailer for The '90s Arcade Racer successfully funded on Kickstarter

reznaf | 6:00 PM | , , ,

For those of you who used to spend hours and hours playing video games in arcades in the not so far gone past, you may remember how the racing games used to be back then. Well a two-man team of game developers wants to bring that arcade racing experience back to life across multiple platforms with Android being one of them with their game The 90s Arcade Racer.

While the name is a bit dry and could very well be changed down the road, The 90s Arcade Racer is a straight up nostalgic flashback to the days of racing games in the arcade. Everything from the title screen, how the cars are designed and the tracks you will soon be racing on are very reminiscent of the old arcade racing games. Of course the visuals won't be a rough as they were back then.

The two-man team have quite a bit of experience under their belt as well, having worked on projects such as VVVVVV, Cave Story and 1001 Spikes. Now they are bringing their skills to this upcoming racing game as well.

Even though the Kickstarter campaign has surpassed its goal of £10,000 with funding sitting around £12,743, there is still four days left until the campaign ends should you want to toss a couple of bucks at these guys which will help them reach their stretch goals. You can also check out their pitch video below.
